Primary Neuronal Culture
Primary neuronal cultures have long been used to study neuronal biology. Animal models are widely used as model organisms since human brain tissue is hard to come by. Neuroscientists are now increasingly using human pluripotent stem cells as complementary or alternative models since they more closely resemble human brain development. However, primary neuronal cultures remain a powerful system in which to study neuronal biology in a simplified and controlled environment.
We’ve created these resources to help you with your primary culture research.
The Road to Functional Human Neuronal Circuits in Vitro
In this webinar, Dr. Cedric Bardy talks about why and how he invented BrainPhysâ„¢, a neuronal basal medium that better supports neuronal function in vitro. Dr. Bardy describes how BrainPhysâ„¢ increases the physiological relevance of primary and hPSC-derived neuronal cultures in vitro.
